Partners for Our Children

Senate: Funding is provided to increase the rate paid for BRS placements for dependent children who have been assessed as needing mental health services through the mental health division’s Children’s Long Term Inpatient Program and are waiting for an available placement. Funding provides an 18% increase ($42/day) to the estimated average base daily rate ($234/day) for BRS. DSHS is prohibited from decreasing rates elsewhere to offset the impact of the rate add-on.
Final: Funding is provided to enhance the rate paid to Behavioral Rehabilitative Services (BRS) vendors caring for dependent youth who are waiting placement in the Children’s Long-term Inpatient Program (CLIP). This funding provides for an 18 percent rate increase, or approximately $42 per day, for each day a dependent youth spends in BRS while on the CLIP wait list.
