In Washington State, there are approximately 10,000 children in foster care, and about half of all children placed into foster care will be reunified with their parents. These parents – often called Veteran Parents – have very moving stories that are particularly empowering for parents who have recently lost custody of their own children. When a parent loses a child, seeing someone who has walked in their shoes and succeeded can be extremely motivating.
